Beef and Celery Stir Fry

Today I’ll share a home-style Beef and Celery Stir Fry. The recipe is simple and delicious, especially suitable for office workers to quickly make a meal. I make it twice a week at home, and every time we finish it all!
Why recommend this recipe?
Great taste: The celery is crunchy, the beef is tender, and the red bell pepper looks really nice. It’s very refreshing to eat.
Simple to make: Just marinate the beef and stir-fry for a few minutes. It doesn’t take much time, making it perfect for busy days.
Nutritious and balanced: Beef has protein, celery has fiber, and making one dish can solve the problem of both health and taste.
Full of aroma: Ginger and garlic are sautéed to release fragrance, and the sesame oil added at the end makes it smell amazing. Once you take a bite, you can’t stop.
Which part of the beef to use?
For Beef and Celery Stir Fry, it’s recommended to use beef tenderloin or beef shoulder.
These two parts of beef are more tender, suitable for stir-frying quickly, and not easy to become tough.
Tenderloin is the most tender, while shoulder meat has a bit more chew but is still very suitable for this dish.
If you can’t find these two, beef leg meat can also work. After slicing it thin, stir-frying will also keep it tender and smooth. The key is to slice it thin and stir-fry on high heat, or it will become tough.

Secrets to making beef tender and smooth
Marinate with starch: After slicing the beef, marinate it with cornstarch (or corn flour). This helps to lock in moisture while stir-frying, keeping it tender and smooth.
Add a little egg liquid: When marinating the beef, adding a little egg liquid can also make the beef more tender and improve the texture.
Stir-fry on high heat: When stir-frying the beef, always use high heat, and don’t cook for too long. Just cook until it changes color, as cooking too long can make it tough.
Cutting direction: When slicing the beef, cut against the grain. This will break the fibers and make it more tender when eating.
Recipe variations
Change the vegetables: You can replace the celery with carrots or mushrooms to add different textures and flavors.
Add some bean paste: If you like a richer taste, you can add a little bean paste while stir-frying. It will make the overall dish more layered in flavor.
Add some nuts: For example, cashews or almond slices, sprinkle them on top at the end to add crunch and aroma.
Use different sauces: You can replace soy sauce with black pepper sauce or Thai sweet chili sauce for a different surprise in flavor.
Serving suggestions
This Beef and Celery Stir Fry can be paired like this:
Rice: Pair it with a bowl of white rice. The aroma of the beef and the crisp texture of the celery complement each other perfectly.
Clear soup or stir-fried vegetables: You can pair it with a simple egg soup or stir-fried vegetables to add a lighter taste.
Cold dishes: If you want something more refreshing, cold cucumber or cold tofu salad are also great, appetizing and help balance the richness.
FAQs:
The egg liquid helps the meat retain moisture, while the cornstarch forms a protective layer on the surface, reducing moisture loss. This keeps the beef tender during stir-frying, making it less likely to become tough or hard.
If you have a wok, it’s definitely more convenient, but it’s fine to use a frying pan; you can still make a delicious dish!
When cutting, slice along the fibers for a better texture, as it won’t be too tough. Cutting it into small sections also makes it easier to stir-fry.
