Today, I'm sharing this delicious and appetizing New Year's Eve dish recipe - Braised Pork with Bamboo Shoots! The streaky pork is fatty but not greasy, and the dried bamboo shoots are fully infused with the fragrance of meat, salty, fragrant, crispy and refreshing! It's super delicious when mixed with rice.

    50g dried bamboo shoots

    350g streaky pork

Seasonings

    15ml cooking wine
  • ·
    10ml soy sauce
  • ·
    5g white sugar
  • ·
    3g salt

    20ml oil
  • ·
    300ml hot water

DIRECTIONS

Step 1

Prepare ingredients and pretreatment:

Soak 50g dried bamboo shoots in clear water for 12 hours in advance. After soaking and softening, wash them and cut them into 3cm sections; cut 350g streaky pork into squares with sides of about 2 - 3 centimeters; cut 10g ginger into slices with a thickness of about 2 - 3 millimeters; cut 20g scallions into sections with a length of about 3 - 4 centimeters each.

Step 2

Stir-fry streaky pork:

Pour 20ml oil into the pot. When the oil is hot, add streaky pork and stir-fry with medium heat for 3 - 5 minutes. Stir-fry the streaky pork until it is browned on both sides and remove it for later use.

Step 3

Fry spices:

Leave the base oil in the pot and keep it on medium heat. Add ginger slices, dried chili peppers, and star anise. Quickly stir-fry for 10 - 15 seconds to bring out the fragrance of the spices.

Step 4

Season and color:

Add the stir-fried streaky pork and stir evenly. Add 15ml cooking wine, 10ml soy sauce, and 5g white sugar. Continue to stir-fry for 1 - 2 minutes to evenly color the streaky pork.

Step 5

Stew ingredients:

Pour in 300ml hot water, add the cut dried bamboo shoots and scallion sections, stir evenly, cover the pot, and turn to low heat to stew for 30 minutes.

Step 6

Season and thicken the sauce:

After the dried bamboo shoots and streaky pork are stewed until soft and tender, add 1.5g salt, stir evenly with a spatula, cover again and continue to simmer for 3 minutes on low heat until the soup thickens and then it can be served.
