Milk powder : If you don’t have milk powder, you can try using fresh milk or cream instead.
Are rice cakes actually healthy?
Rice cake itself is relatively healthy. As a traditional food, it is mainly made of glutinous rice and is rich in protein, fat, carbohydrates, as well as various vitamins and trace elements, such as calcium, phosphorus, potassium and other ingredients. Eating it in moderation can compensate for the body's nutrition. However, rice cake is relatively high in calories and takes some time to digest, so the amount should be controlled when eating.
Tips for Success
Prepare the ingredients well: Make sure all ingredients are ready and weighed accurately. Especially milk, use room temperature milk, avoid using refrigerated milk which will cause the batter temperature to be too low and affect subsequent operations.
Butter should be handled properly: Butter needs to be softened to room temperature in advance, so that it is easier to mix with eggs and sugar to form a smooth batter. Avoid butter that is too hard and causes uneven mixing.
Mix the batter evenly: After mixing the eggs, sugar and softened butter, stir thoroughly to ensure that there are no granular substances. When adding glutinous rice flour and milk powder, stir slowly to avoid lumps in the batter.
Add the right amount of milk: Add the milk to the batter in batches, stirring thoroughly after each addition to ensure the batter is of moderate consistency. Avoid adding too much milk at once, which will make the batter too thin.
The heat should be moderate: When baking butter rice cake, the temperature should be controlled to avoid overheating, which will cause the surface of the rice cake to solidify too quickly while the inside is not cooked.
