Enchiladas Rolled

When I was exploring food recently, I found out: If I can’t finish the corn burritos, should I roll them up and freeze them first , or cook them before storing them? I believe many of you have this question, so today we will discuss the question of “Should I roll up and freeze or cook the corn burritos?”

Should I roll up and freeze my enchiladas or cook them ?

In fact, I think that whether to roll up the burrito and freeze it or cook it and then store it needs to be analyzed based on the actual situation. First of all, if you want to eat the burrito in a short period of time, then choosing to cook the burrito and then store it is not an option. This way, when you want to eat it, you can just take it out and heat it up.

But if you want to store tortillas for a long time or have a lot of tortillas at home , it is recommended to roll them up and freeze them. You can neatly arrange your favorite fillings, roll them tightly, put them in a fresh-keeping bag, and then freeze them in the refrigerator. When you want to eat them, take them out and heat them in the microwave or oven .

How do you freeze enchiladas for later?

To make frozen tortillas easy to eat, follow my recipe. First, you can roll the enchiladas with thefilling in turn. Remember to roll them tightly to avoid unraveling when they freeze and heat later.

Volume tortilla can use a plastic wrap or aluminum foil to wrap rolls, it is best to package morebetter, prevent frostbite rolls in the freezing process, and other food and refrigerators ingeermany.

Then label the wrapped enchiladas with the date so you can remember how longthey've been in the fridge. Place the wrapped enchiladas in a ziploc bag or airtight container tolet out as much air as possible, then place the enchiladas in the freezer.

So when you're ready to eat the enchiladas, just take them out and put them directly in themicrowave on medium-high heat for 1-2 minutes, or in the oven at 180-200 degrees Celsius for10-15 minutes, and then serve. The specific time can be adjusted according to the size of theburrito and the power of your microwave oven and oven.

How do you keep enchiladas rolled?

When it comes to keeping tortillas well-rolled, the filling is key first. Remember not to overfill thetortilla when you roll it, or it will easily spill over when you roll it, resulting in a loose roll.

Secondly when rolling the tortilla, start slowly from one end and tighten slightly as you roll. Youcan also fold the sides toward the center, like a small package, to prevent the filling from leakingout of the sides.

If the tortilla is dry and hard, heat it up slightly to make it soft and springy for a better roll. Toheat the tortilla, just microwave it for 10-15 seconds. There are also tools you can use to help the burritos. For example, with a sushi curtain, place thetortilla on top of the curtain and use the curtain to tighten it as you roll it, so that you have a nice, tight enchilada.

How to keep corn tortillas from tearing when rolling enchiladas?

To prevent the corn tortilla from cracking when rolling, first avoid using corn tortillas that are too dry. If you use dry corn tortillas, you need to heat the corn tortillas before rolling them.

You can heat them in a pan on low heat for about ten seconds on each side, or put them in a microwave on high heat for about 10-15 seconds. The heated corn tortilla will become soft and elastic, and it will not tear easily when rolling.

Secondly, remember to roll the tortilla gently. Start rolling from one end of the tortilla, don't be too anxious, and don't use too much force. If the tortilla is thin, you can use the index finger and thumb of both hands to gently pinch the edge of the tortilla when rolling it, and adjust the angle while rolling it so that it can be rolled evenly.

Finally, there are some things to pay attention to when placing tortilla fillings. Don't put too wet fillings, otherwise the tortilla will become soft and rotten, causing it to tear when rolled.

If it is a relatively wet filling, such as sauce, you can drain the filling first, or use ingredients such as lettuce to separate the sauce and tortilla, thereby reducing the possibility of tortilla tearing.

What is the secret to non-soggy enchiladas?

Choose a good cornmeal: The fine texture and golden color of cornmeal is better for making crispy crust.

Control the moisture of the dough: When making the dough, be sure to control the humidity of the noodles and avoid adding too much water, otherwise it will cause the dough to become wet and cause the crust to be sticky.

Proper wake up: For tortillas to be fluffy and soft, it is important to wake up the dough. Cover the dough with a damp cloth or plastic wrap and let it sit for 20-30 minutes to rise and relax.

Heat and time: It is important to control the heat when frying tortillas. Cook them over medium heat to ensure that the crust is evenly heated. Do not cook them for too long on each side, otherwise the crust becomes too dry and hard, and do not cook them too short, otherwise the tortillas are not yet cooked.

Just the right amount of grease: To avoid sticking to the pan, brush the tortilla with a thin layer of oil before frying. This will prevent the tortilla from sticking to the pan and help it form a crispy shell and retain moisture inside.

Is it better to freeze enchiladas cooked or uncooked?

I personally think that uncooked burritos are better, but it depends on personal needs. Under normal circumstances, the biggest advantage of frozen uncooked burritos is that it can maintain the original texture and flavor of the tortilla and fillings to the greatest extent.

Because it has not been cooked, the changes in the ingredients are relatively small. When you want to eat it, you only need to fry it in a pan, bake it in the oven, or heat it in the microwave to restore the original taste of the tortilla. This is something that frozen cooked burritos cannot achieve.

But freezing cooked burritos also has its benefits. Frozen cooked burritos are already finished products, and their flavor, fillings, and tortillas have already blended well before freezing. It will be more convenient and quick to heat up when eating, and you only need to heat it in the microwave and it can be eaten, which is very suitable for busy people and saves time.
